For more than 27 years, Sylvan has helped more than two million students learn to read, write, calculate and organize themselves to reach their potential inside and outside of the classroom. More importantly, Sylvan has helped children develop a love of learning and a confidence that they carry throughout their lives.

Help your child catch up, keep up or get ahead

Most students — regardless of their academic performance — can use extra help to achieve their full learning potential in one or more key subjects. At Sylvan, we offer a choice of quality tutoring programs to help students improve overall. Our proven process begins with a Sylvan Skills Assessment test that is designed to identify your child’s strengths and needs, so that we can then create a personalized program that’s right for your child. Our trained and certified teachers ensure that your child receives the individualized attention necessary to master the skills needed to do better in school and better in life.

Sylvan is more than tutoring.

Every Sylvan Learning Center is a centerpiece to the community and surrounding neighborhoods. At Sylvan, we are committed to being good neighbors and valued partners in the communities in which we live and work. Filed under: Uncategorized — Cathy Langford @ 6:30 pm

Silent auction is less than eight weeks away and without your continued support this event would not be made possible. We are asking for all donations to be dropped off at the school or make arrangements for pick up. We would like everything in by February 1st in order to give us time to publish them in the program. Of course we won’t turn anything down turned in after the deadline.

How can you help?  There are several ways.  We hope you can do all three !!!!!

Donate new items for the auction. It could be something you buy, or something you have received as a gift that you don’t need. Be selective and try to find quality items that will help raise money. You can make a basket consisting of several items or send individual items that we may group with other items to make a basket. You will receive recognition for your donations in the Silent Auction Program and a receipt. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Please attach the form on the back of this flyer to your donation and bring it to the school office. Please fill it out completely with your donor information and with your donation description. It is very important that you list a value for each item. We need the value for your receipt and for the program. If you need ideas for donations, please see the list below.

Classroom Baskets. Each classroom will make a basket and may need additional items that you can supply. Let your child’s teacher know that you are willing to help out.

“Masquerade Ball”

Find a marvelous mask and wear it well so your true identity no one can tell !

With our new venue for the event came a new theme. We are all so excited about all the new changes.Don’t assume that the “Ball” in the new title means that you have to go out and buy an expensive evening gown, unless you want to be the exception. Most of us will be spicing up the usual attire we would associate with going to a nice dinner out or to church with an awesome mask. Besides, we would rather everyone save their money for the auction!

Another small change will be the agenda. We intend to finish the auction and start the dancing and entertainment around 9:30. We hope that this will allow everyone to enjoy a couple more hours of festivities if you can get a sitter that will stay late. If you have to avoid turning into a pumpkin and need to get home early, you will still have had the opportunity to participate in the evening’s auction and grande raffle!

We hope that you are as excited as we are about this year’s event. Mark your calenders for March 6th and we will see you there, unless your mask disguises your identity too well!

Yum!!! September 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Cathy Langford @ 3:46 pm

I am so excakecited to tell everyone about a new idea I had for this years auction. We did so much planning this summer and this is probably my favorite. We have decided to have a bakery. YUM! The way it works is the day before the event your child will be asked to bring in a baked item. If you choose to participate your child will get a no uniform day, and the class with the most items will receive a movie and popcorn party.  We will sell, not auction the baked goods at the event. This is pure profit for our school, so let’s try to make it a success. I will send more information home closer to the event.
